June
The planetary focus for June is on communication and travel. With the planet ruling these
areas, Mercury, in retrograde until 6/19, delays or glitches that can occur do allow additional
information to surface. Expect plans to be renegotiated or redesigned, stay flexible and in the
moment, you may find that things work out better than you initially anticipated. Have a book on
hand should you find yourself delayed while traveling. The Gemini New Moon occurs on 6/3 at 1:
23 PM MDT. This Lunar cycle favors letting inspiration guide you. Take time for breathing in
beauty and surrounding yourself with those who promote peace in your life. Weekend
getaways can provide new perspectives as long as you are willing to allow for spontaneity and
the unexpected. Traveling to locations you’ve been before will allow for a reconnection with
those you’ve met previously. Be aware that words spoken in hast, frustration and / or anger
have a very long shelf life now. Before assuming that new ideas or information may be well
received try entering the other persons ‘world’ to get an alternate perspective. Doing so can
save you weeks of confusion and sore feelings. On 6/13 Pluto the planet of transformative
process and scrutiny re-enters Sagittarius until December. This is Pluto’s final visit to this sign,
as it takes about 250 years for Pluto circle the zodiac. This is the perfect time to transform the
beliefs that no longer serve you or your world. The Gemini / Sagittarius Full Moon is on 6/18,
the same day that Venus the planet of allure enters domestic and family orientated Cancer.
With Pluto strongly connected to this Full Moon and Venus in the sign of Family, this is the
perfect time to honor your ancestors, visit the family crypt, call your mother, create changes in
your home environment or release (through ritual) any negative family legacy issues. On June
19th Mercury resumes direct motion providing forward momentum to new plans or matters that
had bogged down over the last month. The Summer Solstice occurs on June 20th at 6 PM this
year in the northern hemisphere when the Sun enters zodiacal Cancer. The Full Moon energies
are still very much in affect at this time indicating that we will favor the conservative and
traditional during our summer months. Cancerians, this is your year to take some risk and
explore unknown territory. Your world will open up if you allow yourself to embrace the
unfamiliar. Uranus the planet associated with the unusual and eccentric as well as invention
and insight begins apparent retrograde motion from 6 /22 until November further reinforcing
the conservative dynamic of the summer months.
July
July opens with the Cancer New Moon on 7/2 at 8:19 PM. This is an extremely fertile Moon with
Venus, Ceres, conjunct the Sun and Moon in Cancer. This planetary line up favors home and
food centered activities. Jupiter and Uranus both planets of exuberance are nicely aligned to
the New Moon indicating that parties given now will undoubtedly be lots of fun with plenty to
eat and do. This Lunar month favors using innovation and adopting simplicity as methods to
achieving results. Mars planet of action and motivation just moved into practical Virgo on 7/1
aiding the impetus to address domestic projects and health matters. Mercury joins the cozy
Cancer line-up on 7/10 further enhancing family communications and projects. Venus the
planet that influences our likes and expenditure tastes moves into regal Leo on 7/12. The
Cancer / Capricorn Full Moon occurs on 7/18 and has Jupiter the planet of good fortune
traveling with the Moon and visible all night. The Sun joins Venus in the sign of royalty, Leo, on
7/22. Leo’s totem is the Lion emphasizing the noble quality of this sign. Respect is important to
Leo who can be generous, romantic, devoted and brash. For Leos the year ahead provides the
opportunity to expand your job situation through education and /or supportive co-workers.
Mercury’s entry to Leo on 7/26 brings out the storyteller and dramatic flair in all of us. Be aware
that some of your ‘stories” could lead to misunderstanding or distrust if they stray too far from
the truth.
August
A total solar eclipse occurs on August 1st as the New Moon passes in front of the Sun at 4:13
AM MDT making it visible in northern Canada, Greenland, Siberia, Mongolia and northern
China. Because the eclipse occurs during the early morning hours here in the west, we will
see just the tail end of the Sun’s obscuration. Parts of the eastern U.S. will have a much better
view. This is an extremely powerful and dramatic New Moon dynamic that supports embracing a
consciousness of global healing and compassion. Peace meditations can be extremely
powerful at this time. It has been proven (known as the “Maharishi Effect”) that it only takes 1%
of the population joined together with focused intent to affect 99% of an unfocused populace.
Involved in this eclipse’s nodal access* are Mercury, Venus, Neptune, and Chiron all planets
associated with love, healing, peace and expanded consciousness. At the same time the
planets of unpredictability and aggression, Mars, Uranus and Pluto align in a crisis orientated
aspect. We can choose which path to walk. Venus moves into wholesome Virgo on 8/3
promoting discernment in relationship and money matters. Mercury joins her on 8/10. The Leo
/ Aquarius Full Moon on 8 /16 at 3:16 PM is a partial lunar eclipse that carries the light energies
of the previous solar eclipse as well as some of its challenges. The desire for an ideal can
create dissatisfaction that can lead to frustration. Find the blessing inside what may at times
seem burdensome; you then open yourself to greater opportunity. Mars enters Libra on 8/19;
the warrior planet doesn’t usually feel at home in the sign of vacillation and equality. Mars in
Libra is easily irritated. Allow more time for projects begun at this time. The Sun enters clever
Virgo on 8/22. This is the sign that finds joy in the details and is whom others turn for a dose of
practical estimation and problem solving. Many Virgos will be re-evaluating their lives in the
year ahead. The desire for “something more’ is stimulating a review of commitments and life
path. On 8/28 Mercury joins Mars in Libra, creating a voice for greater harmony and
cooperation. Venus enters her home territory of Libra on 8/30, smoothing the waters that Mars
has ruffled.
